This position will work in a terminal facility where dry quicklime delivered by truck is pneumatically transferred to a horizontal mixing vessel then slaked to produce lime slurry for distribution by outbound truck. The hours worked in this position are long, erratic and demanding.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Perform preventative maintenance and repairs to fleet trucks and trailers.
2. Repairs will include bearings, brakes, bushings, springs, axles, alternators, wiring harnesses, replacing gaskets, fittings and seals, hydraulics, etc.
3. Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and terminal equipment.
4. Uses hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing instruments to troubleshoot, diagnose and perform mechanical repairs on terminal equipment.
5. Execute work orders and compile maintenance records as required in accordance with all Company procedures and regulatory standards.
6. Physically inspect all terminal related equipment at least once per shift to detect mechanical problems and to ensure employee safety. Record results of inspection.
7. Perform all assigned work adhering to company and governmental safety rules and regulations.
General expectations are to reduce our subcontracting maintenance cost by performing the following.
- Complete trailer brake rebuild and repair.
- Complete trailer spring and bushing replace or repair.
- Complete trailer bearing and axle replace or repair.
- Complete trailer electrical and air replace or repair.
- Ability to Meg weld stainless, all steels, or aluminum.
- Ability to perform cutting with plasma cutter and gas torch
- Complete industrial engine overhaul.
- Complete trash pump overhaul.
